Denise Dvorscak....lower back pain I began suffering from lower back pain in 2009 and by the end of the year; the pain was almost more than I could bear. During the day the pain was tolerable (shooting pain down my leg and foot), but at night it was excruciating. I woke every 2-4 hours with pain and by the time I would get out of bed, the pain was so bad that I would almost pass out. I had to resort to sleeping in my recliner because I could get out of that with no pain. At one point the pain had become so bad I was taking well beyond the recommended daily dose of ibuprofen. Early 2010 I made an appointment with my orthopedic physician/surgeon and had an x-ray and a MRI. The results showed a herniated disc, spindylilothesis, and degeneration. He recommended a cortisone shot and physical therapy, but ultimately I was told I would have to have surgery. I received no relief from the shot and physical therapy caused me more pain. My last effort was with a chiropractor that just administered massage therapy that also gave no relief. I made an appointment with a surgeon to discuss my options. Dr. Rich asked me to make an appointment with him first to review my diagnosis and offered to help. I reluctantly agreed because of my previous experience with a chiropractor. My first appointment was the end of May and I am happy to report that I am now back in my own bed after 4 ½ months in a recliner!!! I am not waking up in the middle of the night with pain and taking medication. It’s almost like I had no back problem at all. I appreciate the patience and persistence of Dr. Rich. I am deeply grateful that I have my life back again!!
